Mundane Meals

Let's face it--most of us aren't chefs. Whether because we don't have time or just hate cooking, a lot of us want something that's not too complicated to make and tasty. Rachael Ray claims to provide quick and easy meals, but I really don't like her show. She manages to say "easy", "simple", or "fun" every other sentence. It gets on my nerves. My chef sister doesn't like her because she's too lowbrow, or something like that.

(And would you have guessed Rachael Ray posed for FHM? Insert your own joke about looking "easy" here.)

So that's why there's this page. The recipes aren't too hard, but they look fancy enough so that other people think you are a decent cook. Plus, they don't taste awful, and you don't have to listen to "30 Minutes Easy with Rachael Ray", or whatever her show's called.

Oh, and if you want an actual chef, try Iron Chef Hugh. I've never tried his cooking, or even met him, but a friend from high school knows him, so it's probably safe. (UPDATE: Got to meet him, but still haven't tried his cooking. He as a person seems safe enough.)

If my sister would ever bother to contact me, I would pimp her skillz, too.

Here, I combine rice, shrimp, peas, and coconut to make a faux elegant dish. In reality, this is a very flexible dish. As long as you combine rice with any ingredient, you can rightfully call it Rice and Stuff.
Mystified by how long to cook the spaghetti? With my recipe, you won't need to worry about it!
OK, so this isn't technically a meal. My special salt water gargle is an anti-sore throat formula. Gargle with it for several hours of relief. As proof you can survive, check out this movie. (30MB, Quicktime).
